Get Started Again – Now!

Losing momentum isn’t a good thing if you are working towards some type of improvement or goal in life. Short term, long term, whatever it is – it’s important to make sure that you get it started again. It happens to all of us. Things get in the way, our lives are too busy because of school, kids, family, travel, etc., and all momentum seems to slowly creep out of your body and mind. How do we adjust and get ourselves back on track? Here are a few ways to Get Started Again after you are disappointed that you’ve lost all momentum and are not on track with your goal, change, improvement – you get the idea:
Time is irrelevant
Time is the one thing that every person has in common. We all have the same amount in any given day. And it’s important to realize that it’s never too late to pick up, start over, or refocus on reaching your goals, dreams, or passions. Maybe you started a project months and months ago – don’t let the amount of time that has passed discourage you in any way. Don’t let time hinder progress.
Think solution, not problem
It’s very simple – ensure your focus and energy is put towards solutions, not problems. Successful people deal with problem after problem, but they are successful because they have set their mind to focus on ways around problems. Often times simply using positive language is helpful – instead of saying “I’m not sure I can….” you might say “How can I….”. Repeatedly training your mind to think “how” – will help your mind open up and welcome potential problem-solving solutions.
Overcome your “story”
Ask anybody why they haven’t reached a goal or made something happen that they set out to – what do you get? You get a story. It might be a nice combo of excuses. Or, maybe it’s a waiting game. Whatever it is, it’s this made up story that a person has rationalized and bought into because it makes them feel comfortable. If you have a story, is it any good? Is that really the way it is? Or, again, is it what you’ve allowed yourself to accept – in a sense lowering your standards.
Lean on the results
What I mean here is that you should spend a considerable amount of time understanding the exact results you are going to achieve. And you ask, why? By keeping the results you hope to achieve on the top of your mind – you can justify doing ridiculous things to achieve the results you are shooting for – ultimately your result-driven desire, passion and persistence force you to take action. Solutions come easier, and problems aren’t really problems. They are merely hurdles, easily overcome by understanding and even visualizing yourself as though you’ve already achieved.
It will be fun!
You get one life. Habits are tough to break and tough to pick up. You really have to do a lot of something to make it a habit, but it can a whole lot of fun. When you follow through on some of what is discussed above, you can begin to feel like you have control. Your desire and realization that you can pick something back up that you may have put to the side. Let loose. Get it going. Move around. Get the blood pumping. Be thankful.
Get Started Again.

Time is truly irrelevant. If you have something to do then do it. don’t let time be the reason you don’t challenge yourself or do anything about your current situation. Work from your heart and everything will take care of itself.
Jonathan,
Yep, too many people let that discourage them and as time goes on – each day that passes doesn’t seem to really matter. It’s when you get started again and gain momentum – that you realize the power of time and persistence.
