20 Ways to Find Inspiration: #18
Written by Michael Weaver | Follow me on Twitter | Free updates via Email.
Intro: This was initially one post listing out 20 great methods or things you can use to find inspiration in your life. I have decided to expand upon each one because so often we read “how-to’s” and different things we should do in list forms – and typically no action is ever taken. I wanted to talk in more detail about how I interpret and get inspired by each one.

#18 – Pay the Library or a Bookstore a Visit
Once you take a plunge and come to the realization that you want to get smarter, better at your job, more productive in life, make a bigger income, etc. – you will find out that books all of a sudden become a major part of your life.
Take a few hours out of your week and go spend it at a library or a bookstore. It will quickly become an environment that you enjoy immensely and one that puts you in a mode of creativity and deep thought. You’ll get a chance to quickly scan through as many books as you want and expose yourself to a world of knowledge you simply didn’t know existed.
And who are we kidding, is there a better deal out there than the library? Free books, movies, music – all for your entertainment! Even if you prefer to own the books that you invest your time in – they remain a very inexpensive form of entertainment.
Regardless of your mission in life – or maybe you are interested in even finding out what your mission is – there is a book out that can help you make progress and open up your mind.
Reading is so powerful and critical to your growth as a person and a professional. I’ve heard it said before that your investment in college, an education, is to earn a living – but your investment into yourself is what will earn you your dreams and wealth in all forms.
It’s often that you hear rather successful people talk about a particular book that made the difference for them – or was their primary vehicle for inspiration to action. So, instead of heading to the movies or to the mall, head to the library or the book store and begin to invest in yourself!
A Couple Quotes I Enjoy
“Books can be dangerous. The best ones should be labeled “This could change your life.” -Helen Exley
“You are the same today that you are going to be in five years from now except for two things: the people with whom you associate and the books you read.” -Charles Jones
