Intro: This was initially one post listing out 20 great methods or things you can use to find inspiration in your life. I have decided to expand upon each one (in no particular order!) because so often we read “how-to’s” and different things we should do in list forms – and typically no action is ever taken. I wanted to talk in more detail about how I interpret and get inspired by each one.
#16 – Travel
When you are getting ready to take a vacation – don’t you feel like you need it the most as it nears? Getting out of your routine, your town, and your house can be quite an inspiring and enjoyable experience – and that’s why we want vacations more than ever as they draw closer on the calendar.
It’s a dream of mine to one day be able to travel the world at my leisure. If I am fortunate enough to be able to do that, I don’t plan on visiting the same place more than a few times – as I want to see new place after new place.
Immersing yourself into a different culture can be a highly rewarding and interesting experience. You will learn more about the world we live in and the impact of your experience will most likely go home with you – providing for ongoing moments of gratitude and inspiration.
I’ve been fortunate to do some traveling while in college and a bit last summer – so far I’ve visited 13 countries. This summer I traveled through Guatemala and Honduras. The trip was very inspirational and rewarding, while difficult at times. Exposing yourself to a developing country is an awesome way to gain some perspective on life and learn about yourself.
Even if you aren’t a very social person – you’ll never forget some of the people you meet while you are traveling. Even if you are simply camping at a nearby state park, or spending a weekend away with close friends or family – you’ll create memories that will last a lifetime.
