Back at it with another quote that can help you mentally see through and beyond your challenges and difficulties in all phases of life. So often we let small bumps in the road throw us off track, when in reality it’s those small bumps that should be catapulting us to success.

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill
optimism, opportunity

Initial Thoughts

Easy to say, but people don’t know the challenges and unique struggles that I face, right? I feel like I’m optimistic but I’m not really sure! Maybe it’s the small hurdles that seem to trip me up that could be overcome if I changed my frame of mind and how I think. Might be worth a shot – let’s dig a little deeper.

Digging Deeper

Opportunities and difficulties go hand-in-hand. Meaning that your difficulties should turn into opportunities for you. If that is not the case, then you probably need to adjust your paradigm relative to how you respond to your life’s difficulties and challenges. What’s involved in your thought process? When presented with a difficulty, how do your thoughts dictate your actions and response? By being optimistic, you essentially train your brain how to react and respond to difficult situations. Your optimism will keep your ultimate goal in the forefront of your mind – and won’t allow negative thoughts to mud the waters and deter you.

What to Walk Away With

Optimism is an attitude. Attitude is power – and there is one person in this world responsible for your attitude. YOU! It’s all on you. Optimism doesn’t happen overnight. It happens, but it’s something you have to practice via your mental awareness. Can you leverage the power of optimism? Absolutely. And you can start this very second. But keep at it. Recognize when you are straying towards pessimism and turn yourself right around. Bumps in the road will happen, but tackled with optimism puts you in a situation for opportunity and success.

Optimism is what is getting me through my impending divorce. Without it, I would be a mess and afraid. I have my moments, but overall have been able to keep my focus on what the end result of this very difficult situation will be.

    Great post…thank you.

It’s too bad more people don’t think this way. Seems like so many are waiting for something good to fall in their lap, instaed of going out and getting it. Challenges make us stronger, and while some may be tougher than others, there is something to take from each of them.

Thanks for the quote. It’s a good one to live by.

Yes, it is tough to remain optimistic and positive some days. Let’s all get through this together…and focus on the positive. A good friend of mine was dying of cancer – and she always said … someone else has it worse than I do! Thanks FORT ! Save the ta tas!

The difference between optimism and pessimism is just a thought. What you think (and what you don’t think) influences your habits and your life. Changing your life starts with changing your thinking habits.
